We had an opportunity to speak with David about David's Vacation Club Rentals. Read our exclusive interview below:
WDW-Resorts: Can you please tell us a little bit about David's Vacation Club Rentals and the services you offer?
David: I started David's Vacation Club Rentals in April of 2006 with a goal of assisting members of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) with renting their timeshares. There was no other avenue available to members at that time, other than to post personal ads on community bulletin boards and forums, or on sites like Craig's list or E-bay. Many DVC members didn't even know that they could rent their unused time, and ended up forfeiting their time back to Disney. Today, we continue to work with DVC owners to match up their allotted time with guests who are interested in staying in a Deluxe Disney Vacation Club Villa at rates that can be up to 70% lower that that of the Disney advertised rack rate.
WDW-Resorts: What makes the Disney Vacation Club villas special?
David: The Disney Vacation Club Villas are part of the "Deluxe" category of rooms offered by Disney and each resort has unique themes, amazing amenities and Disney's world-class service. Rather than your traditional hotel room which may accommodate 4 or 5 persons, the DVC resorts offer studios, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom villas accommodating parties of up to 12 people. The studios are equipped with mini kitchenettes which feature a mini fridge, microwave, wet bar, coffee pot, toaster, utensils and flatware. The larger villas all feature separate sleeping quarters, living room, full kitchen with fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, etc., as well as ensuite washer and dryer. Almost all villas feature a balcony.
WDW-Resorts: What are the benefits of renting a Disney Vacation Club villa?
David: The biggest benefit of renting a Disney Vacation Club Villa is the larger amount of space coupled with huge cost savings. All guests renting a Disney Vacation Club villa receive all of the benefits that any guest staying at a Disney resort would receive, including, Magical Express, Extended Magic Hours and full use of Disney transportation.
WDW-Resorts: How long in advance should one reserve a Disney Vacation Club Villa?
David: This is an excellent question. The Disney Vacation Club system is designed to fill each and every DVC resort to full capacity each and every night of the year. With this in mind, many owners will reserve their time up to 11 months in advance, at the most popular resorts and most popular room types. With this in mind, we have published our experience here: http://www.dvcrequest.com/how_soon_should_i_reserve.htm
WDW-Resorts: Are your customers entitled to Disney Vacation Club perks, such as private lounges, online check in and Disney Magical Express?
David: Any amenity, feature, or perk that is offered to any guest staying at a Disney resort is also available to any guest who rents a DVC villa through us. There are some perks and discounts that are offered to Vacation Club members that can not be transferred to their guests, such as restaurant discounts, annual pass discounts and special events. In these cases, an active membership card would be required.
WDW-Resorts: Can your customers purchase the Disney Dining Plan?
David: The Disney Dining Plan is available to all of our guests.
WDW-Resorts: Are reservations guaranteed and secure? Is there any risk involved in renting a vacation club villa?
David: All of our reservations are guaranteed and secure. That said, there are risks involved when renting a vacation club villa from a private individual. After all, people are people and subject to life's unexpected challenges including, but not limited to, financial issues. We mitigate these risks with a full money back guarantee. We have processes in place to protect you, and in 8 years of business, we have never had a guest show up to a resort and not have a room.
WDW-Resorts: Which is your favorite Disney Vacation Club property?
David: Believe it or not, each and every resort is our favourite. It just depends on what we want to do during our stay. For instance, if total peace and quite is our goal, Old Key West is the resort of choice. If Downtown Disney is the focus of the trip (movies, restaurants, shopping, arcade, entertainment, etc.) then we are definitely booking at Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. For the Food and Wine festival or most New Year's Eves, you'll find us at Boardwalk. Nothing beats walking out of the resort at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and directly into the California Adventure park. And don't get me started on Aulani in Hawaii. I could ramble for hours.
WDW-Resorts: How often do you visit Walt Disney World?
David: We travel to Walt Disney World six or seven times each year. After all, it is a business and meetings, networking, updating, experiencing and reporting is all part and parcel of what we do.
WDW-Resorts: Is there anything else you would like us to know about David's Vacation Club Rentals?
David: I am the pioneer of this business. I wrote the script and have perfected it over the years. My success is the benefit of treating my guests and my members the way I want to be treated and the way I know Disney treats its guests. The result is a 100% positive rating from all of the guests and members who have used my service over the past 8 years. The team we have in place is second to none. If you have dealt with us, you already know this. If you haven't yet done business with us, I challenge you to try us. I will make you a believer. After all is said and done, we're sending you to the happiest place on earth. That itself, can't be beat.
It was a pleasure interviewing David from David's Vacation Club Rentals. This is an excellent company which I have personally used and I highly recommend their services. I only wish I could visit Walt Disney World six times a year!
