About the Resort

Perched on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon, the Disney Grand Floridian Resort is themed after Victorian seaside hotels from the turn of the 20th century, such as the Hotel Del Coronado. Opened in 1988, the striking red gabled roof contrasts with the white gingerbread buildings.

The main building hosts the opulent five story lobby with marble floors, a birdcage elevator and stained glass roof domes. Many of the hotels services are in the main building, including dining and shopping.

The resort offers a spa, business center and convention center. It is located near the Disney Wedding Pavilion.

As a full scale resort, the resort offers the following:

You can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks and the nightly Electric Pageant Water Parade from the resort.

Visitors can reach the Magic Kingdom by monorail or boat. If you want to go to Epcot on the monorail, you must make a transfer at the Ticket and Transportation Center. All other areas of Disney are accessible by bus.
