Search for the City of Gold at Disney Coronado Springs Resort, a Spanish-Mexican themed resort at Walt Disney World. The resort is one of the Disney moderate resorts and is also a full scale convention center.

Named after the Spanish explorer Don Francisco de Coronado, the resort is large and beautiful. The resort opened in 1997. Situated on the lovely lake, Lago Dorado, the resort offers 1921 guest rooms on 125 acres of property. The theme is Mexican/American Southwest. This grounds are beautiful and the resort lighting is lovely in the evening.
El Centro is the main building at the resort and contains:
Coronado Springs Hotel has many amenities to please convention goers and families. The resort has a health club, playground, jogging path and arcade. The marina offers boat rentals.
The pool has a large 50 foot high Mayan pyramid and a 123 foot long slide. The largest hot tub on Disney property is at the resort and can hold up to 22 people! The resort also has three smaller quiet pools.
Dining options include an average food court and a very good sit down restaurant, the Maya Grill.
Three "villages" of buildings housing the hotel rooms surround the 22 acre lake. The villages are:
